Every pixel has a story

I am queer, Latino immigrant and software engineer who believes in a future where technology serves people, and prosperity is shared, not gatekept.

I was born & raised in Cuba and came to the U.S. as a kid who was part of one of many waves of families chasing more after the collapse of the Soviet Union. My family was in search of more stability, more opportunity, more hope. I don’t remember every detail of that crossing, but I remember how it felt to leave something behind before I even understood what it meant to belong. That tension between becoming and remembering, between survival and self has shaped a lot of who I am.

I love traveling the world, chocolate, a manhattan drink, and flamboyant brooches

I live in Chicago

I've spent 21 years in software engineering. I built systems, shipped products, led teams, and sat inside some of the most complex technology decisions companies have made. I've worked across enterprise SaaS, digital platforms, mobile, and AI integration. I know what it looks like when technology works for people, and I know what it looks like when it doesn't.

Today I consult on AI and technology integration. Helping companies implement tools thoughtfully, training teams, and helping them make smarter decisions about where technology fits in their work.

I also write.

I've been writing my whole life. About identity, about what it means to belong somewhere, about the gap between who you are and who the world expects you to be. What changed is that I stopped keeping those two parts of myself separate. The engineer and the writer are the same person. And that person has something to say about the systems being built right now. Who they serve, who they displace, and what gets lost when the people building them have never had to fight for their place in the world.

Need help integrating AI or technology?I bring 20+ years of engineering experience and a clear-eyed perspective on what these tools actually do.

Let's talk
